Customer Support at Sykes Cottages

Temporary roles until the end of August 2018

The job will be based in our call centre alongside the Customer Support Team and it will involve completing the following tasks by answering inbound telephone calls and responding to emails from our property owners and customers.

Completing balance payments-  Once the booking has been confirmed with an initial payment, any following contact will come to the Customer Support Team. A customer may make any number of balance payments on their booking up until the final payment is complete.

Travel Insurance- Whilst receiving balance payments we have an opportunity to upsell an additional benefit to customers who have not previously taken it in the form of Travel Insurance or Personal Liability Insurance. Alternatively a customer may contact us following confirming their booking to request additional Insurance.

Owner Bookings – This is where our property owners contact us by telephone and email to place (or cancel) an ‘owner booking’ to reserve dates at their own property (this may be for maintenance, private booking etc).

Requirements include a pleasant telephone manner, excellent attention to detail, ability to follow direction and instructions accurately, good communication skills (including spelling and grammar) and good timekeeping and attendance.

The hourly rate for the position  is £8.72 (based on annual salary of £17,000)

This role will be in the Customer Support Team and will be working on the department hours of 9am to 7pm over 7 days each week. (During the summer we will extend our closing time to 9pm from 20 July to the end of August.)

The shifts are 9:00-17:30, 10:30-19:00 and during the 9pm closing we will also work a 12:30-21:00 shift (this allows 1 hour unpaid for lunch).

Our rotas are produced in advance on a four-week rolling basis and will include (as detailed above) regular evening and weekend working.
